This problem is only with 64-bit windows 7 and 8 our 32 bit windows 7 work fine. It always tells me the driver is not for my platform! I downloaded IA64 drivers. Once the driver is downloaded I cannot get it to install. You have to click in each one until you find the right one. Of the four pages of results, there is no indication for which platform (x86, IA64 or AMD64_ the files are for. If I search a more generic "LaserJet 4000" it finds four full pages of matches. When I search for the exact model "LaserJet 4000n" it can't find a match. I then go to the HP web site only to be told they do not host the files and to instead get them from windows update catalog. This is after it's spent 5 -10 minutes searching online. When I connect to \servername\printer it tells me it cannot find a suitable driver. Recently we got some new workstations and I need them to access the printer. We have a couple of network printers on a server that everyone uses.
